2008 Toll Gate Creek Chapter Outstanding Junior
Bobbie J. McDonald
Bobbie J. McDonald was nominated and unanimously confirmed for 2008 Chapter Outstanding Junior at the September meeting. She is preparing her application for the 2009 State Outstanding Junior Contest, and if selected as a national finalist she will go
on to compete at the contest at the 117th Continental Congress in July 2009. While we wait for news on her selection, please read
a little bit about her.
Bobbie researched her family line with her paternal grandmother, Gelene McDonald. She and her grandmother
became members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in 2000. Gelene was a member of the Sarah Platt Decker
Chapter in Durango before she passed away. Bobbie has served Toll Gate Creek Chapter in various roles and committees including Chaplain
and Librarian. She currently serves as Vice Regent. Bobbie is also active with the State Society and is currently serving
as Page Chairman.
Outside of DAR, Bobbie stays busy as a working mom and wife. She is a Regional Marketing Director
for ARAMARK’s sports and entertainment division where she is responsible for marketing food, beverage, retail and facilities programs
for nearly 50 stadiums, arenas, amphitheaters and convention centers including Coors Field, the Pepsi Center, Red Rocks and Dick’s
Sporting Goods Park in Denver and Reliant Stadium, Minute Maid Park and the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. She
and her very supportive husband, Troy Baum, have been married for 3 years. They are new parents to an 8-month old baby girl,
Chelsea. Chelsea's middle name is Gelene after her great grandmother. Bobbie also enjoys many hobbies including scrapbooking,
card making, cooking and gardening. It’s a feat to juggle it all, but Bobbie does it all with a smile!
We are so proud
to have her as a member of Toll Gate Creek Chapter!
