Our Service
Our goals and participation is mostly
accomplished through the work of a committee system. We strive to participate in
each category. Below is various work we do in our chapter to support
the DAR committees.
Historic Preservation
Mount Rosa members recorded
the names from inscriptions and office records by walking through the
cemetery and looking at every gravestone at
Littleton cemetery. You
may review this publication at a local library. Have a relative who might of been buried here and would like for us to
look it up? Click here and include their name. We will
research the information for you.

DAR Schools
This committee promotes programs at six independent non-profit schools. Each
of these schools was founded by someone who sought to meet the needs of disadvantaged
children in areas where education was inaccessible. As the improvements
of roads and better educational facilities became available the needs of these communities
changed. Today the DAR Schools encompass a variety of special needs and have become and
integral part of their communities. Mount
Rosa Chapter participates with Banking for the Future and
Campbell's Labels for Education Program.
Conservation
This committee is committed to protect the environment and promoting the responsible use
of natural resources. We strive to maintain and improve the land and other
resources for which we are responsible. As chapter members, we emphasize recycling
and the careful use of water and beautifying our landscape. Mount Rosa volunteers to work with the
Colorado Department of
Transportation for the Adopt-A-Hwy project. Litter and garbage is picked
on University Blvd. between Arapahoe Rd. and Belleview.
Mount Rosa recognizes John
Fielder, for the NSDAR Conservation Award and Medal.
American History
The purpose of this the committee is to promote American History throughout the year by
honoring significant historical people, places, dates and events. In
February we have Student Recognition Day where we honor outstanding student's achievement in the
American History Essay Contests. We also sponsor the Christopher Columbus Essay
Contest in conjunction with the National Italian American Foundation. All essays are
based on historical accuracy, organization of material, interest, originality, grammar and
neatness. For

The aim of this committee is to recognize and reward senior high school students
who possess the qualities of good citizenship. Mount
Rosa sponsors the following high schools: Arapahoe, Chatfield, Columbine, Dakota,
Heritage, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Mullen and Thunder Ridge.
