Briggsdale Cemetery

Briggsdale, Weld County, Colorado

The Briggsdale Cemetery is located 1/2 mile west and 1/2 north of Briggsdale, Colorado, off State Highway 14 at Township 8N, Range 62E, Section 21.  This is a public cemetery and still in use. The cemetery was first located 1/2 mile south of Briggsdale. The railroad used that area for a locomotive turnaround. In 1924 all but two or three graves were moved to the present location. The graves of Mr. Waterman and Mr. Cathcart were not moved. In 1995, Harry Waterman erected a monument in memory of his father, George Waterman - Northeastern Colorado Pioneer, at the location of the original cemetery.
