Homes for Our Troops Members of the Cache la Poudre Chapter are active supporters of Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization that provides specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans throughout the country. Homes for Our Troops is currently building a custom home for Marine SSgt John Jones and his family in Fort Collins. SSgt Jones was wounded in Iraq by a roadside bomb that caused the loss of both of his legs. The exterior of the home, including the roof, was completed during a three-day “Build Brigade” on May 8-10, 2009. Many individuals and companies donated their time, expertise, materials, and food, including members of the chapter. The home will be completed inside and out by the middle of July. We have been asked and will volunteer our time for cleaning, landscaping and various other finishing needs.
